How to deal with uncomfortable conversations

Uncomfortable conversations are always going to be uncomfortable.

The more we have them, the more we'll recognize they’re not (usually) personal. The facts are what will light the path toward a resolution.

It might mean we need to invest time in being clear. It might mean there’s a more fundamental misalignment.

It’s actually a forensic exercise to figure out which one it is. Once it becomes a puzzle, it can feel a lot less personal.

It is a skill that only develops with time and practice.

Each time you have one of these conversations, you get one step closer to being "better" at dealing with the discomfort.

It's not all there is, of course, but it's a solid place to start.

Paravelle offers executive coaching services to founders and CEOs with big growth goals. It's a crucial support structure that helps leaders avoid the negative results that come from being lonely at the top.

We might be a good fit to work together if you're:

  • at the create (<1M ARR), build ($1-3M ARR), or grow ($3-5M ARR) stage,

  • curious and looking for ideas and answers, and

  • ready to invest in working with a collaborator that brings a co-founder's perspective (without losing half your equity).

Let's chat!
