Hi! I'm Dave Bates, an experienced senior executive with a passion for helping leaders communicate effectively and execute their vision.
In addition to a wide range of skills, I work with a network of specialists who can provide additional capacity or a highly specialized tactical focus based on your current state and growth goals.
My Background
I studied organizational communications and professional writing in college.
As a freshman, I participated in an advanced organizational communications course during which I was asked to lead the management team in a semester-long collective bargaining simulation. I loved it! That energy helped me shepherd our team to become the only “company” to resolve the labor dispute and get the “factory” back into production before the end of the course.
And, so began my passion for organizational sense making, sound leadership, and exceptional communication.
Fast-forward 30 years to the present day.
I’ve led a lot of real-world teams at companies that deliver products and provide services. My professional experience includes practical training as an organizational coach. I've also worked as a consultant across a variety of industries.
I have seen successful patterns that achieved results. I've also seen leaders and teams actively working against their own success. Sometimes they recognized it. Sometimes they didn't.
It didn’t have to be that way for them.

I once heard a CEO (Eric Holter, Cuberis) say:
“Its hard to read the label when you’re inside the milk bottle.”
Aside from being hilarious (if you really stop and think about what it would actually be like inside a milk bottle) this comment is really profound. As leaders, we’re often so focused on running the business that it is hard for us to evaluate what’s holding us back from achieving even more.
